The purpose of the CBA
Youth Activity Fund is to encourage and support involvement of children aged 10
to 18 in activities that promote Jewish community, culture, religion or education.
Who May Apply
Children of members of
the synagogue* aged 10 to 18.
Qualifying Activities
Any activity that
promotes Jewish community, culture, religion or education; e.g., Jewish youth
group activities, attendance at Jewish camps, trips to Israel, etc.
Fund Awards
A child may be awarded
funds only one time in a 12 month period.He/she is eligible for additional funds in subsequent 12 month periods.
A maximum of $200.00 per
year, per child may be awarded.A
maximum of $400.00 per year, per family may be awarded.
Note:If the quantity of funding requests exceeds
fund availability, award preference shall be made to those who have not
previously received funds from the Youth Activity Fund.
All awards will be
made at the discretion of the CBA Board of Directors.
Application Procedure
Submit a completed application (below) along witha letter of request explaining how the activity will enrich your Jewish
experience and/or benefit the synagogue, and details of the activity (e.g.,
activity announcement, brochure, etc.).Applications may be mailed to:Congregation
Beth Ahm, Attn:Youth and Education, 362 Palisado Avenue, Windsor, CT06095.Additional application forms are available in
the synagogue office or may be requested by calling the synagogue at
860-688-9989.
Applications
will be reviewed and voted upon by the Board of Directors at their next
regularly scheduled meeting.The Board
of Directors meeting is held the 3rd Thursday of every month.If a meeting of the Board of Directors is
cancelled, or other timing issues occur that result in an activity being
attended or paid for before the Board of Directors has had an opportunity to
review an application, the application will be considered at the next regular meeting
following the attendance of or payment for the activity, and funds may still be
awarded to assist with the cost of the activity.
The
applicant shall be notified of the status of their application and the amount
of funding awarded (if approved) within one week following the Board of
Directors meeting.
Proof
of payment (copy of receipt, cancelled check, etc.) will be required for any
activity for which funds are awarded.If
an activity is cancelled or not attended for any reason, awarded funds must be
returned to the CBA Youth Activity Fund.
*Membership
dues should be current at the time of application.
